You sure are familiar with PayPal. We all do. In case you don’t have one yet and you want to sign up, you can create an account anytime you want all for free. Yes, it’s free to sign up an account. You don’t need to pay anything just to create one. So today, I thought of sharing with you the process on how to create a PayPal account.
With today’s convenience, having an e-wallet is definitely a big help. Aside from shopping online, receiving funds through blog opportunities, working online, and joining surveys should be done easily as well. And PayPal is among the payment methods that are considered by many businesses today. So to help you in making your online venture more convenient, here’s is a step by step guide on how to create a PayPal account.
Step 1: Go to www.paypal.com.
Step 2: Click Sign Up
Step 3: Select Buy with PayPal
Step 4: You’ll be routed to a page where it says “Sign up for Free. Personal Account”
Fill up this form with your details.
Step 5: On the next page, you’ll see a form where you need to fill it up with your complete details such as name, address, contact number, and most importantly the National ID number.
Note: Make sure to fill up the form with your complete details, the accurate one. The purpose of this is that when you decide to verify your account by linking a bank card, you won’t pay any penalty. Aside from the penalty due to mismatch of details, your PayPal won’t get verified as well. Thus, you won’t be able to withdraw any funds you have in your account by then.
For ID number, there are 3 options you can select: National ID (SSS ID and Postal ID will work for this), Passport, and Driver’s License. In case you don’t have any of the three aforementioned you can’t proceed in creating your account. I suggest creating a temporary ID number (combination of letters and numbers) so that you can proceed in creating your PayPal account. You can change it anytime, though. Just make sure to change it the moment you verify your account using a bank card.
Step 6: As you proceed, you’ll be routed to the next page where it will ask you to add your card (bank account). In case you don’t have one yet, you can skip this step by clicking the “I’ll do this later” option.
As you’ll click this option, it will ask you again to confirm your option to do this later. So just proceed in selecting that you’ll do it later then.
Step 7: As you submit the confirmation, you’ll be routed to a page where it will say You’re Ready to Go!
Once you go to your PayPal account, there are 3 options will be shown at the bottom part of the page – Account Created, Confirm Email Address, and Link a Card.
Step 8: Confirm your PayPal account via email.
Note: Email confirmation is different from bank card verification (Link a Card). Email confirmation is needed to confirm the validity of the email address you used.
Step 9: Go to your email provider and check if you receive an email from PayPal asking you to confirm your registration.
Step 10: Click for button shown in the email you received from PayPal and it will direct you to PayPal login page.
Log in using the email address you use and the password you have created. The moment you successfully logged in, your account will then be verified. And there you go! You can now start accepting funds from people. Also, you can use those funds in purchasing items online.
Note: Should you want to withdraw your funds, you would need to link a card for that to be possible. I’ll soon blog about it. For now, I hope this step by step guide on how to create a PayPal account helps you.
